NEON STUDIOS INC.
Privacy Notice
Effective Date: September 1, 2026 | Last Updated: September 1, 2026
Applies to: The Neon digital signage player application for Android ("the Player App"), including builds distributed through Google Play and the Amazon Appstore, builds preinstalled on or delivered to Neon-supplied hardware (Amazon Signage Stick, TCL signage displays, and the Neon NG1), and builds otherwise distributed by Neon. It also covers device management of Neon NG1 hardware, described in Section 4.4.
This notice supplements the Neon Privacy Policy. Where this notice conflicts with the general policy, this notice controls for the Player App.

2. Summary
The Player App runs on commercial display hardware installed at business premises. It is not a consumer application and it has no consumer user accounts.
We collect technical information about the display hardware itself, in order to operate, secure, support, and troubleshoot the service. That information is described below.
3. Sign-in: Device ID and PIN
The Player App is activated by entering a Device ID, generated by Neon in the Neon Dashboard and issued to the business customer that operates the display, together with a PIN held by that customer.
These credentials authenticate a specific piece of display hardware to the Neon service. They are not linked to a named individual, do not create a user profile, and are not used to track any person. No account is created within the Player App and no personal information is entered at sign-in.
4. Information the Player App collects
4.1 Collected on all builds
4.2 Collected only on Amazon Signage Stick and TCL signage hardware
Amazon and TCL each provide a manufacturer SDK that exposes additional hardware information, and each SDK functions only on that manufacturer's own signage hardware. The information below is therefore collected only when the Player App is running on Neon-supplied Amazon Signage Stick or TCL signage hardware. It is not collected on any other device, regardless of how the Player App was installed.
4.3 Screen captures (Amazon Signage Stick hardware only)
On Neon-supplied Amazon Signage Stick hardware, Neon support staff can remotely capture an image of whatever the display is currently showing, to help troubleshoot an issue.
Because a screen capture shows exactly what the display is presenting at that moment, if the business customer has configured the display to show content such as an order-status board, a capture can include information visible on that screen, which may include a customer's name. Neon does not seek out or specifically capture this information - it is incidental to capturing whatever content the business customer has chosen to display - and uses it only for the troubleshooting purpose described above. Screen captures are not used to train machine-learning or artificial-intelligence models.
4.4 Collected on Neon NG1 hardware (device management)
Neon NG1 units are managed through a third-party mobile device management ("MDM") service, which Neon uses to configure, update, monitor, secure and support the hardware. Device management operates at the device level and is separate from the Player App's own collection described in Sections 4.1–4.3. It applies only to Neon NG1 hardware - it is not used on Amazon Signage Stick or TCL signage hardware, or on devices where the Player App was installed from an app store.
Device location is collected about the display unit - a fixed commercial installation - for asset management. It is not collected about any person and is not used to track anyone's movements.
Remote management functions available through this service include pushing configuration and software updates and clearing content cached on the device.
Neon is responsible for how this information is used. The device management provider processes it only on Neon's instructions, and may store or process it in the United States, the European Union, or other countries in which it operates.
4.5 What we do not collect
The Player App does not collect audio, video, camera imagery, biometric data, contacts, browsing history, or advertising identifiers.
Location is collected only on Neon NG1 hardware, through the device management service described in Section 4.4, and relates to the fixed installation rather than to any person. No location information is collected by the Player App itself on any device.
Except for the screen capture feature described in Section 4.3, neither the Player App nor the device management service collects information about members of the public who view a display.
5. Service providers
We use the following providers to operate the Player App. Each is bound by contract to use the information only to provide services to us.
A current list of named sub-processors is available to business customers on request by contacting privacy@neonscreens.com.
We do not sell or share information collected through the Player App with third parties for advertising purposes.
6. Retention
Log, crash-report, and screen-capture retention are fixed rolling windows keyed to when the event occurred - they are not shortened or extended by contract cancellation. Playback logs and the device record follow Neon's company-wide Records Retention Policy (Customer Records category: active + 5 years, then disposed unless subject to a legal hold), rather than the shorter operational-log pipeline.
7. Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information associated with the Player App. These include encryption of data in transit, access controls limiting internal access to device information to personnel who need it, multi-factor authentication for internal administrative access, and logging of administrative access to customer accounts and of support actions taken on a display.
8. Children
The Player App is business software installed on commercial display hardware and operated by business customers. It is not directed to children and is not intended to be installed or operated by anyone under 18.
It is rated for users aged 18 and over in both the Google Play Store and the Amazon Appstore.
We do not knowingly collect information from children. Except for the screen capture feature described in Section 4.3, the Player App collects no information from members of the public who view a display, regardless of age.
9. Your privacy rights
The Player App does not collect information that identifies individuals except as described in Section 4.3 (screen captures), so requests relating to personal information will normally concern the Neon Dashboard or other Neon services rather than the Player App. We will nonetheless respond to any request we receive, including one relating to information incidentally captured in a screen capture.
California residents. You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of personal information we hold about you. Exercising these rights will not result in discriminatory treatment.
Other US states. Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws, including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Nebraska, Maryland, Minnesota, Iowa, Tennessee, Indiana, Kentucky, Rhode Island, Utah and Washington, may make comparable requests. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our response; if we deny the appeal, you may contact the attorney general in your state.
Sale and sharing. We do not sell personal information collected through the Player App, and we do not share or process it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. Because no sale or sharing occurs through the Player App, there is no related opt-out to exercise for it.
How to make a request. Email privacy@neonscreens.com or write to the address in Section 1. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Neon's other services and websites. Rights and choices relating to Neon's websites and other services are addressed in the Neon Privacy Policy.
10. International users
Where information is processed. Neon is based in the United States. Information collected by the Player App is processed in the United States. Device management data for Neon NG1 hardware, described in Section 4.4, is processed by our device management provider, which may store or process it in the United States, the European Union, or other countries in which it operates.
How access to the Player App is granted. The Player App's listings on Google Play and the Amazon Appstore are not geographically restricted, so the application can be downloaded in any country where those stores operate. The application is not functional without a Device ID and PIN, and Neon issues those credentials only to a business customer under a B2B services agreement. Neon currently enters into those agreements with US-based businesses.
Displays operated outside the United States. Where a display is operated outside the United States, Neon's handling of personal information in connection with that deployment is addressed in the International Deployments section of the Neon Privacy Policy. That section applies to information collected through the Player App; this notice adds only what is specific to the Player App.
Personal data specific to the Player App. As described in Section 4, the Player App does not collect information that identifies a named individual, apart from the screen capture feature in Section 4.3. IP address is also treated as personal data under the GDPR, since it can indirectly identify a natural person (for example, an installer or IT staff member operating a display), even without a name attached. Everything else described in Section 4 relates to a display unit rather than to a person.
11. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice to reflect changes in our practices or for legal or operational reasons. The date at the top will be revised, and the current version will always be available at this URL and linked from the Player App sign-in screen. Material changes affecting the categories of information we collect will be communicated to affected business customers.
